Mission Controls & Automation is a Value-Added wholesale distributor specializing in Electrical Motor Controls and Automation products for the industrial markets. Besides selling components we also design and build custom control panels in our UL508A on-site panel shop. In addition, we also are a Systems Integrator. Mission has been in operation for 32 years and is locally owned with headquarters in San Antonio and an office in Corpus Christi.

We are seeking candidates for a sales entry position who can demonstrate the willingness and desire to provide the utmost in customer satisfaction. You must be able to multi-task and be ready for whatever comes your way. You’ll work not only with customers but also with our outside sales team, panel shop, and automation group.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Process entry of new orders
  • Source and procure special items
  • Fast turn-around of RFQ’s
  • Expediting
  • Managing customer calls
  • Establish customer relations
  • Work closely with Outside Sales Reps. – Warehouse – Panel Shop – Automation Group
  • Some counter sales
  • Be respectful and cordial with your co-workers, vendors, and customers
  • Possess good communication skills – orally and written
  • Have good organizational skills

Mission Controls & Automation which has been in business for 31 years serving the Central and South Texas markets has three components within its operation – Electrical Wholesale Distribution, System Integration, and a UL 508A panel shop. Some of our markets are Oil & Gas, Material Handling, Food & Beverage, Water – Waste/Water, and Security plus others.

  • Minimum 2 years AutoCAD/Electrical experience
  • Ability to interface with Engineers upon initial design
  • Create panel drawings with mechanical layout and electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of control circuit design
  • Ability to manage and develop a BOM
  • Quickly and accurately generate drawings
  • Excel proficiency
  • Previous panel design is a plus
  • Low voltage power design experience
  • Understanding of the NEC and UL requirements
  • Familiar with PLC’s, VFD’s, MCCB’s, NEMA Type Enclosures, Pilot Devices, Wire & Cable

JOB DESCRIPTION:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES –

  • PLC programming and HMI design
  • Assist panel shop designers with control circuits, hardware integration, and specifications
  • Onsite and remote equipment start-ups (some travel is required – 20 percent)
  • Ancillary equipment programming and integration
  • Project documentation

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 to 5 years of demonstrated Rockwell and Siemens experience
  • Experience with control circuit design and troubleshooting
  • Electro-mechanical experience beneficial
  • VFD knowledge
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical documents

PLUSES:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Experience with Profibus and/or Ethernet
  • Excel proficiency
  • Experience with database developments and queries
  • Experience with JAVA, PYTHON, or Scripting
